Our Mission

Our Caring, Experienced and Highly Trained Paediatric Podiatrist is passionate about treating children and adolescent foot, ankle and knee problems.

We provide structured and evidence based treatment modalities to assist in finding accurate diagnosis and treatment of any condition facing your child.

There is no age limit or starting age for treatment, we can assist with the management and advice of babies right up to the mature teenager. If you feel there is a problem, you should at least get an opinion. Early advice can prevent adult issues.

Early intervention and prevention of chronic conditions in children is our primary focus in providing a timely, and very effective treatment outcome for our patients

What to do if you notice changes in your child's movement

If your child complains of sore legs, trips often, or seems to tire quickly from activity, it may be their body's way of saying it needs support.

Growing children adapt quickly — but small imbalances in movement can build over time.

A paediatric podiatry assessment helps identify how your child's feet, legs, and posture are working together, so we can guide healthy growth and prevent ongoing discomfort.

Early insight leads to confident movement — and peace of mind for you.

Beyond Treatment. A Movement Experience

Every child's movement tells a story.

Regular foot and leg assessments help us understand how they're developing — allowing us to support balance, strength, and confidence as they grow.

We recommend checking your child's feet at key milestones to reduce injury risk, assess coordination, and encourage healthy movement patterns early.

At Age 3

Your child begins to develop a natural "heel-toe" walking pattern.

This is the stage where early balance and arch formation start — the ideal time to observe coordination and foot posture.

At Age 5

School age is an important checkpoint.

Activity levels increase, and children begin spending longer periods walking, running, and playing in structured shoes.

A quick review ensures healthy alignment and helps prevent fatigue or discomfort during this growth stage.

Age 11-12

As children enter puberty, body mass and bone maturity change rapidly.

This is the most common time for new issues to appear, especially with sports and footwear.

Assessment at this age helps prevent chronic strain and supports ongoing athletic and everyday movement.

Common Movement Concerns in Children

Pain and fatigue are never just part of growing up.

Many children show small signs of movement imbalance long before pain becomes noticeable — and early assessment can make all the difference.

Common signs we see include:

  • Heel pain: Often appears after running or sport, especially during growth phases.
  • Foot pain: Aching through the arches, ankles, or toes after activity or at rest.
  • Knee pain: Discomfort in front or behind the knee, often linked to lower limb alignment.
  • Knocked knees or pigeon-toe walking: May signal rotational imbalance or muscle weakness.
  • Flat or stooped feet: Can affect posture, stability, and endurance.
  • Loose joints or frequent ankle sprains: May indicate hypermobility or reduced control.
  • General fatigue or leg pain after activity: Suggests the muscles are working harder to maintain alignment.

Each of these can be part of how your child's body adapts as they grow — or an early sign that their movement needs support. Our paediatric podiatrists can help identify the cause and guide the right steps toward confident, balanced movement.

Treatment Options for your child

The treatment process involves firstly by identifying the dysfunction.

Treatment options range from soft tissue release, stretching, gentle mobilisation of the feet, and exercise prescription.

The utilisation of custom orthotics to provide the stable base to initiate the alignment of the body. Muscle activation and stabilisation further contribute to long term pain free relief. We utilise a combination of modalities with a holistic approach to assessment and treatment dysfunction.

Our Paediatric podiatrist has over 15 years experience in providing specialist care in treatment for your child.
